MEXICO COUNTRY CHALLENGE
REUSE DEMOLITION WASTE

How can we improve the sourcing of new construction materials by facilitating the use of waste* materials at a local scale?
*Waste: demolition waste, sludge from water treatment plants, ash as a by-product of sugar industry, thermoelectricity, etc., slag from steel production, glass or glass by-products, plastics and by-products, non-organic waste.

SHORT DESCRIPTION

There are many restrictions on regulations in Mexican construction businesses. The near future and sustainability of the business is an important issue, while the availability of natural resources (raw materials) is diffcult.

Also the sourcing and transport to the job site needs improvement, and the performance of waste materials should be similar to new material.

The solution should include the Mexican regulations & standards related to the use of construction waste.
