AUSTRALIA COUNTRY CHALLENGE
RECYCLED BUILDING MATERIALS

How can a higher use of recycled materials, by-products, etc... reduce the Australian CO2 footprint ?
Solutions should help improve the building design to decrease the embodied carbon.

SHORT DESCRIPTION

The Australian Built Environment needs to increase the use of low carbon materials or design solutions, while quantifying the CO2 savings.

The solutions should be easy to use, without any technical challenges and have comparable strength and stability to traditional construction materials available on the market.

SELECTION CRITERIA

Existing start up. Small - Medium sized, preferably from Australia, Singapore or Southeast Asia.
• Has the ability to scale large CO2e reductions. Will have meaningful impact in relation to the reduction of the embodied carbon of the built
environment
• Doesn’t require significant changes to standards to be used
• Novel if possible — It would be good to be a part of building something that is going to lead the industry in a slightly different direction. Exciting!
• Close to be market ready (results can be achieved through the program in 6 months).
