UK COUNTRY CHALLENGE
CIRCULAR ECONOMY

How do we implement a System to enable the Circular economy to maximise value (carbon and cost) of used construction materials, minimise waste and re-introduce it into our value chain with maximum impact?

SHORT DESCRIPTION

While it is challenging to regulate and track waste products, this restricts the ability to design with reused materials.

There is a need for KPIs, targets: what does good mean? Technical and commercial issues are standards, regulations and specifications as well as improving assurance with the quality of products, while keeping in mind the risk and cost. There is a skill gap in the supply chain, the storage of components is an issue and develops to a need of linking demo with new build within the portfolios or at regional level.

In general there is a need for scaling up of systems.
